THE KILLERS

MURDER TRILOGY

I put together a poster using typography to visually communicate what the band, The Killers, sound like. The concept was to focus on The Killers’ Murder Trilogy — Leave the Bourbon On The Shelf, Midnight Show, and Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine — that tell a story about how jealousy drives a boyfriend to the edge and murdering his girlfriend. The imagery is of a young man strangling his girlfriend off scene while her hand tries to push his face away. I chose to go with a red monochromatic color scheme to emphasize the buildup of intensity in the storyline. These songs are also based off of the night life that happens in Las Vegas so to make that connection, I incorporated the hazy glow of warm yellow lights in the band’s name to emulate the neon signage you see on the strip.
